    I would have to agree… with oil and other fossil fuels getting pumped out (literally), nuclear energy is the way to go. Unless we want to run out of energy in a while, which is not a good idea.
    On the other hand, at least in Canada we do have some natural ways to create power (Niagara Falls, wind, solar), and we should also invest in those a bit more- they’re by far the cleanest and safest energy sources, which is cool.

    BC is attempting to use rivers as a source of energy: Run of River

    I love the idea. If they can figure out how to generate enough power using this technology, I’d sign up in an instant.

    There is some river run power but it requires huge dams and rivers with constant flow. Silt is more of an issue with river run generation as there is no deep reservoir to allow accumulation.

    there are not many that meet those requirements. Ontario Hydro has build a number of dams on rivers to manage flow and try to do the same thing, especiallly from season to season
